Ms Jean Tan is a Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing for over 18 years, providing psychological assessments and psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. Her clinical experience has honed her expertise in understanding children with developmental difficulties and working with challenges in intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. She has worked extensively with the clinical populations, and has a special interest in depression and anxiety. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, however, Mindfulness is a core competence in her practice.
She has served in various settings including International and local (mainstream and special needs) schools, and a Family Service Centre, working with troubled adolescents. In addition, she has also worked with psychiatrists in a hospital for eight years, providing treatment to individuals diagnosed with a clinical disorder. There, she was a pioneer in providing therapy to adults suffering from ADHD.
She received the Health Development Manpower Planning Fellow Award in 2009 and completed her postgraduate Master of Clinical Psychology from the National University of Singapore.
Jean is a mother of two children with whom she aspires to share a calm and positive relationship.
She is currently an Associate Lecturer in Singapore University of Social Sciences. She is now in private practice and consults with Cognitive Health Consultancy International.
